 Tournament Information

The Tournament is the Cooke & Deaton Senior Open One Star.

The tournament is included in the Computer Ranking Scheme
The promoting body is Cooke & Deaton Table Tennis.
Approved by Lincolnshire County Table Tennis Association and Table Tennis England

Please note that this is an "all day" event. Players must be prepared to play in the morning and afternoon.
Grantham College will open at 8am, and the tournament will begin at 9.30am, finishing at around 4.30pm.
There is no admission charge to the venue other than the tournament entry fee and parking is free.  There is no charge for spectators.
All entries and event details are subject to COVID-related restrictions, or protocols that Table Tennis England may deem necessary. Venues used for events may impose COVID restrictions that go beyond government guidance.    

If the player or any spectator is suffering from COVID symptoms, please inform the organiser at the earliest opportunity and do not attend the tournament.

TTE, the Organisers and the Referee will not tolerate bad language or verbal abuse of volunteers, officials, staff or venue staff, nor a failure to follow the operational directions of stewards and event staff. We will treat all such instances extremely seriously and will take disciplinary action if necessary. The CLOSING DATE for entries is 19th July 2024. The draw will be made on 25th July 2024 but will not be published in advance.
We can accept a maximum of 48 entries. If it becomes necessary to restrict entries, priority will be given in order of receipt.
Photo/live streaming for Cooke & Deaton Table Tennis may be taking photos and live streaming matches during this event which may include (but not limited to), using them in our printed and online platforms, social media, press releases and funding applications. If you do not give permission to take photographs and/or video of you (or individuals for whom you are legally responsible), please contact chris.turner50@hotmail.co.uk.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS AND CONDITIONS

This event is open to male and female players.
Every entrant must be affiliated as a Compete Member or be a member of another National Association in membership of the ITTF.
TTE Regulations Part A (Regulated Competitions) and Part B (Tournament Regulations) apply to the tournament.
ITTF Regulations for International Competitions apply to this tournament except where otherwise specified in Table Tennis England Regulations Parts A or B, or in this form.
Completion and submission of this Entry Form signifies agreement by the entrant to the conditions of the competition, including any variations of ITTF regulations
Entries must be submitted with full payment of fees.
Each match in the group stage will consist of best of 3 games, each game up to 11 points with a 2 point difference to decide the winner. Following the group stages matches will be best of 5 games.
All competitors will be required to umpire matches during the day.
Playing clothing shall consist of a shirt and shorts, trousers, leggings or skirt, or a one-part sports outfit, socks and playing shoes; a sports hijab may also be worn. Other garments shall not be worn during play except with the permission of the referee. ITTF 3.2.2.1 amended. The main colour of a shirt, shorts, trousers or skirt, other than sleeves and collar of a shirt, shall be clearly different from that of the ball in use. ITTF 3.2.2.2 amended.
Players will be expected to play when called and must not leave the venue at any time without the organiser’s permission.
All players will be expected to honour fully their playing and umpiring commitments/obligations.
If you enter and subsequently are unable to play, you MUST notify the organiser as soon as you know that you cannot attend as a reserve player can be arranged. Players who fail to appear without notification disrupt the tournament and may be disqualified from future events.
All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
No competitor or official shall engage in betting on players or matches.
Doping shall not take place either before or during play.

PLAYING CONDITIONS
Play will be on 8 Butterfly tables with Butterfly posts and nets.
Each table will be in an individual court enclosed by surrounds.
Each court will be 4.5 metres wide by 9 metres in length.
Minimum height of playing area is 6 metres.
Minimum height of lighting from floor is 5 metres.
Lighting is general LED.
Flooring, semi-sprung timber.
There are no practice facilities.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Players will compete in a group against 5 others during the morning. Based on the group results, all players will then be assigned to a knockout draw to be played during the afternoon. There will be three separate knockout draws (Band 1, 2 and 3).
There will be no fixed break between the end of the group matches and the start of the knockout matches. This playing structure ensures a minimum of 6 matches for each player (subject to a full entry and no late withdrawals).
Score machines will be used for all matches.
Balls used will be white plastic Butterfly 3*.
Doping control tests may take place.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners up of each band and will consist of vouchers and Butterfly Table Tennis Equipment to the total value of £200 as follows:
Band 1 Winner £70, Runner Up £35 Losing Semi-finalists £15
Band 2 Winner £25 Runner Up £15 
Band 3 Winner £15 Runner Up £10

VENUE INFORMATION

Onsite parking is available.  
There is no venue, admission, or parking charges for players or spectators.
Changing facilities: Changing room with showers are available, lockers are not available. The centre is not liable for any personal property left unattended.
Refreshments are available for purchase from our cafeteria.
We have a viewing gallery.
There will be a shop available to purchase equipment with former professional players on hand to advise.
